Amanda is a senior leader at the National Youth Agency the lead body for youth work in England. She is passionate about working with young people to enable their voice to be heard and their potential to be maximised to support a fairer, more inclusive society.
Amanda’s passion stems from working within careers, learning and guidance organisations, starting her career as a specialist worker for young people with multiple life challenges. She then focused on preventative approaches and quality standards, leading work to drive excellence in life skills learning.
Over eight years at NYA, Amanda has built youth work specialism, leading strands of activity for workforce development, quality standards and programme leadership. Amanda has led the partnership with o2 Think Big for five years, enabling 7,500 young people to make a difference in their community and their lives. Amanda has a key role in the business development strategy of NYA, exploring innovative ways to sustain essential service delivery across the sector.
