Amanda Kilroy works as Deputy Chief Executive of Exeter CVS, a progressive infrastructure organisation based in Devon. As part of her role she leads on development of CoLab Exeter, a dynamic multi-agency hub, housing a range of VCSE and public sector organisations, each working to achieve health and wellbeing; rehabilitation; housing and recovery outcomes, for a wide range of people, but particularly those with multiple and complex needs.
Her role for the CVS is to lead on health, business development, social innovation and impact measurement. Within the wider hub it is to host the ‘collaborative community’ as they seek to co-design a range of projects and draw out shared learning to influence policy and outcomes.
Amanda has a clinical background in nursing, a teaching qualification, a BSc (Hons) in health science for complementary medicine and an MRes, specialising in Participatory Action Research. Before moving into the community sector, she worked as a social scientist/consultant for Liverpool John Moores, and Manchester Metropolitan Universities, and then at Oxford Brookes University’s Institute of Public Care as a consultant. Amanda is interested in exploring the progressive infrastructure role in whole-system responses to social change.
