Clore Social launches ambitious two year leadership programme for a stronger Women and Girls sector

We are delighted to announce details of an ambitious two year leadership development programme for Women and Girls Sector to build a stronger, more generous and empowered women's movement. This programme will seek to nurture leaders within the sector by forging new collaborations and growing resilience so that it can better support its beneficiaries. The programme is being delivered in partnership with funders including Comic Relief, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The Pilgrim Trust, and Rosa, The UK Fund for Women and Girls.

Recruitment is now open for the first year of the programme in which 20 Senior Leaders from within the sector who will undertake a 4 month Leadership Programme, with a further 24 Emerging Leaders commencing a 6 month development programme from October 2018. Built around Clore Social’s Capabilities Framework, which illustrates the attributes, behaviours and skills for successful leadership, the programme has been designed in partnership with the sector and aims to develop a cadre of leaders to provide robust and effective leadership for their organisations.

A fundraising campaign is currently underway to secure funds for the second year of the programme, planned for spring 2019 which will engage a further 24 Emerging Leaders from Women & Girls Sector organisations across the UK.

Shaks Ghosh, Chief Executive of Clore Social Leadership said “As we celebrate 100 years of women's suffrage the time is right to build a generation of social leaders to take the movement forward. We are hugely excited to be partnering with funders including Comic Relief, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The Pilgrim Trust, Rosa - The UK Fund for Women and Girls, and sector leaders to create this bold, programme that will engage more than 60 Emerging and Senior Leaders. Through a series of coordinated interventions that focus on boosting leadership capability, whilst tackling some of the key issues affecting Women and Girls Sector organisations, we aim to increase resilience and create a stronger, better led sector.”

Applications for stage one of the programme is now open for both Emerging Leaders and Senior Leaders within the sector. The deadline for applications is 29 May 2018, with programme activities commencing from September.
