Youth Social Justice
Nicola is Head of Performance and Insight at The Children’s Society - a national charity that campaigns and runs local services to support young people at risk of exploitation or harm, living in care, or let down by the systems meant to protect them. She leads the organisation’s Evidence and Impact department, improving the way the company harnesses evidence and practitioner insight to inform its work.
Throughout her career Nicola has worked in organisations that pursue a social purpose, both in the charity sector and as a regeneration consultant working alongside community and Local Government stakeholders. This experience, paired with her Research Masters in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation gained from UCL (in which her dissertation focused on the potential that 'big data' analytics offer the sector and the barriers faced in implementing it), has equipped her with technical skills, alongside a strategic and innovative approach to tackling social problems.
She is driven by a desire to achieve dramatic change for the most vulnerable young people, and a belief that the biggest social challenges can best be tackled collaboratively.
