Robert leads the commissioning of targeted services for children and young people, through the process of empowering young people and front line staff to shape services and make commissioning decisions, building more impactful and relevant services.
In Robert’s previous role he founded and led a partnership of schools and broad range of shared targeted services, which became a recognised model of good practice delivering holistic services to children and families, winning the London Education Partnerships Award.
Robert has led inclusive education projects overseas in Myanmar, Rwanda, Nigeria and Vanuatu. He also led research projects in South Africa, Finland, Sweden and the USA. Robert was designated as a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) by the Department for Education and carried out education leadership and policy assignments on a consultancy basis.
As well as commissioning and leading frontline voluntary and statutory sector services, Robert has held governance roles in voluntary sector organisations, including a large older person’s charity, arts organisation and housing charity, chairing finance committees, human resources committees and a regional scrutiny and performance committee.
