Beth is Social Impact Bond (SIB) Director at Social Finance. She works on three SIBs to support teenage children at risk of care entry and becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training).
Previous to this she was an Assistant Director at The Children's Society, which is a leading English children's charity committed to making childhood better for children, through fighting poverty and neglect. While there she led on business development, including service design and tendering, and was responsible for 15 independent projects and 80 members of staff across London and the South West.
Through her Clore Social Fellowship, Beth worked with Social Finance to support them to develop the first Social Impact Bond for children on the cusp of care. She also carried out research exploring ‘Impact Measurement Practices of Large Charities’.
Beth has worked in the voluntary sector for over fifteen years, both in the UK and internationally (Romania, Ghana and Bangladesh). As well as being educated to degree level, Beth has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and a Social Policy Diploma from University of Westminster. Through Clore Social she furthered her studies at London Business School and Harvard through courses on social entrepreneurship and using evidence to improve social effectiveness.
In her spare time Beth is a trustee of her local Citizens Advice Bureau, and enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits including walking, skiing, cycling and gardening.
