Type of Fellowship: General
Year of Fellowship: 2011
Update October 2012
It has been a really busy and awakening few months. I started this quarter studying ‘Evidencing Impact’ at Harvard, and the course left me with a number of questions and a thirst for more knowledge. As a result I have changed the focus of my research to ‘impact’. I have been enjoying researching into the topic and working with others on the key challenges for organisations and solutions to ensure meaningful impact measurement. I am now in the process of ensuring focus to my research.
This quarter I have been taking my Clore learning into the real world and practically applying it! I have started a new internal secondment within The Children's Society, working in the business development unit. This is allowing me to pull together my learning from my secondment and training, in developing new services within the organisation. I am also leading, in my position as a trustee, a governance review, to enable us as board to more effectively lead the organisation.
I also continue to benefit from the mentoring, coaching and my Action Learning set as well as consistently engaging with lots of people, whom I have had the opportunity to meet through the support of the Programme and my fellow Fellows.
Lastly I have also had time to enjoy the Olympics over the summer. I had the privilege to volunteer in the Paralympics opening ceremony and watch a number of events. I have been truly inspired by the energy and pride it has brought to the country. It shouts to me how much is possible if you put your mind to it and the mantra which I have felt throughout my Clore Social Fellowship.
