Type of Fellowship: General
Year of Fellowship: 2010
Update August 2010
So much has happened since my last update. I feel as though my growth as a leader has been expedited by some of the casual conversations with other Fellows, the determined coaching by Ruth Lesirge and the personal insights gleaned from attending a conference in Washington, as well as the recent mini-residential at the Leadership Trust.
There have been a number of significant changes at work that have demanded my attention and also provided a rich source of learning. The Fellowship programme has provided access to a range of opportunities and individuals who have been instrumental in enabling me to reflect on, and work through, issues to arrive at my own insights and learning
The Action Learning Sets have been invaluable in creating a space where I have learned from presenting and questioning. The technique of asking simple but courageous questions has inspired me to pursue accredited training in Action Learning.
I am excited about the research following discussions with Phyllida Shaw (the CSLP research adviser) who has helped me to clarify the themes for my research which I am in the process of finalising into a question on leadership and identity.
Whilst it has been hectic, and there’s no doubt that it can be a challenge managing a full time job and juggling the different aspects of the Fellowship, it is one I am relishing!
