Type of Fellowship: General
Year of Fellowship: 2014
Prior to the Clore Fellowship, Daniela Papi was the Student Programming & Outreach Manager at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. Previously, Daniela gained her MBA at Oxford while also continuing her work advocating for a reform of the international volunteer travel sector. She is co-authoring a book on ‘Learning Service’, aiming to put the learning first in international volunteer travel. Her writing can also be found in a variety of places including the BBC, Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR), Ashoka's Start Empathy page, and her Huffington Post blog.
Prior to moving to the UK, Daniela spent six years working in Cambodia where she founded PEPY, a youth leaderships and education organisation, and PEPY Tours, a development education travel company. She is also a regular speaker on issues of voluntourism, development, and social entrepreneurship including talks on BBC Four Thought, TEDx, and a range of conferences. Daniela believes that an opportunity for this next generation is embedding social impact goals and principles into all enterprises and careers, not just those of people that self-identify as ‘social entrepreneurs. She is passionate about exposing youth to their ability to create this change in our future.
