Emma Brech is Head of Schools & Communities for Renaisi, a London-based social enterprise specialising in community development and regeneration. Emma leads a dynamic team of Bilingual Advisers, who support migrant and minority language families in schools to integrate and contribute their skills via bilingual advocacy, family learning projects and cross-cultural parenting programmes.
Prior to this, Emma designed and developed a counselling and advocacy project for refugee and asylum seeking women with a focus on gender-based violence from. This experience inspired her to set up her own counselling practice for women, addressing issues associated with gender, domestic violence, identity, empowerment and holistic self-care.
Emma is particularly interested in cross-cultural approaches to community development work and is strongly influenced by human rights, equal opportunities and diversity in all of her work. She lives in South East London with her partner and two teenaged daughters.
