Jacqueline Williamson, Chairperson and founder of Kinship Care and 2011 Clore Social Fellow invited Dame Mary Marsh to speak at the launch of 'The Hidden Voices of Kinship Carers' in early March.

The project to produce the book was generously funded by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland through the VOICES project. This is the first time kinship carers have had their voices heard in Northern Ireland.

There are now exciting times ahead as Kinship carers begin to get the recognition they deserve for stepping in during very difficult times to raise very vulnerable children. Kinship carers now have a voice that is heard and the opportunity to inform policy and get the support services which they need and want.
