Type of Fellowship: General
Year of Fellowship: 2011
Update December 2012
I have now started working at Pearson UK, where I have been leading a programme of work to improve the quality and quantity of work experience in the English education system.
In October, I presented the first findings from my practice-based research, with in depth case studies of the Citizen Schools I have worked with during the year. This research event took place at the IPPR where our four case study schools came together with a range of other practitioners to share and reflect on the work of developing schools as civic institutions and centres of citizenship in their communities.
After the presentation of the case studies I have now been working to develop the final report which will be published in March 2013.
I am now working to implement my life-long purpose to be a social leader who works to transform our education system and contributes to the rebuilding of our politics from the ground up. Working with a team of others I plan to open a Citizen School in September 2014 as part of this effort.
