RNIB-funded Fellowship for a registered blind or partially sighted individual

Update August 2010

Since March, I feel I've begun to get to grips with what I will achieve through my Fellowship.

I've completed a WCVA Project Management course; started on my research project; experienced the frustrations of trying to arrange a secondment (mainly to do with getting the attention of very busy people); booked myself on to a training course to teach me to become an accredited Action Learning Set facilitator, and am in the middle of applying to do a Masters in Digital Inclusion at Middlesex University.

We had an interesting 2.5 day residential at the Leadership Trust which has resulted in me suggesting a new strand to their educational work to bring together visually impaired and able-bodied young people to look at barriers between them, how to break some of the barriers down and learn to value each other as people.

I'm also continuing to learn about myself; the nature of full-time work versus my lifestyle to date; what's important to me, and the components I need to have in my life to keep me engaged and satisfied.
