Older People's Fellow (John Ellerman Foundation and Tudor Trust)
Michelle McCrindle is Chief Executive at the Food Train. From South West Scotland, she originally trained as a nurse, working across a variety of areas in an older care setting. She moved to the voluntary sector in 2002 to a very small-town based charity set up and run by older people for older people.
The last 12 years working with Food Train has been a labour of love for her - a crazy mixture of tests and triumphs with the empowering sense of doing something really good for people at the very time they needed it.
Food Train is now a national organisation providing a menu of support services to older people. Michelle is a strong voice advocating on issues such as reducing malnutrition, improving food access and tackling loneliness.
Married with two daughters, Michelle is a sports fan who enjoys watching, volunteering and participating in various sports, in particular triathlon.
