What does 'Making Good Society' mean?
By Natalie Campbell , June 2011
A Good Week
In June 2011, Natalie Campbell ran 'A Good Week', an event designed to provide an opportunity for individuals, social enterprises and private companies to come together to do "good" as well as talk about their achievements. The event and the report explored what 'Good' means to individuals, businesses and communities. It further explored whether or not you can create change by influencing individual people to think about doing Good.
Natalie used the week as a source of material for her practice-based research.
"I'm supporting A Good Week because I believe businesses should think about their social impact and work harder to tackle tough social and environmental problems. My aim, through our foundation, Virgin Unite, is to help change the way businesses and the social sector work together driving business to be a force for good. I believe this is the only way we can address the scale and urgency of the challenges facing the world today. Every week should be A Good Week so let's use this as an opportunity to recognise the good that businesses and communities have done, and think about steps to make even more good things happen."
