John is the author of Improv, has over twenty years of experience in personal development and is an expert in an uncannily accurate method of reading people.
He worked as a director and performer in the Oxymorons Improvisation Troupe which was directed by the legendary Louis Anthony Russo.
After performing in hundreds of shows John progressed into Playback Theatre, directing and appearing in improvised shows for an extremely diverse range of clients in the US.
In 2001 he formed the Maydays – the UK’s sharpest, funniest improvisation company - in order to bring the benefits of these fine skills into businesses. The Maydays’ sold-out performances at the Edinburgh Festival attracted rave reviews; they won Best Comedy Show in the Brighton Fringe Festival for their improvised musicals.
John is in demand as a keynote speaker and trainer. Recent clients include: HTC, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, GSK, Deloitte, PwC, Logica, EDF, Mouchel, DWP, EADS, Lloyds TSB, Bank of America, AXA Wealth, T-Mobile and Vistage.
John was named Speaker of the Decade by The Academy for Chief Executives.
John runs a session on Improvisation at the January residential.
