Type of Fellowship: Specialist
Year of Fellowship: 2012
Paul Hamlyn Fellow
Update October 2012
The Clore Social Leadership Programme (CSLP) continues to offer a plethora of opportunities that it would otherwise be incredibly difficult to access, and the pressure to make the most of these while balancing the demands of managing an organisation, can at times feel pretty daunting. However, the support received from the CLSP team, other Fellows, my mentor, coach, The Junction and family help to keep these feelings in check.
July to September has seen me have a series of one-to-one meetings with leaders from a range of settings. These are leaders I have observed previously, and about whom I wanted to know more in relation to their thoughts, feelings and approach to leadership. I’ve been staggered by how generous folk have been with both their time and the sharing of their experiences. I propose to carry out more of these insightful meetings.
My Mentor, Maureen McGinn and my link at Paul Hamlyn, Rob Bell continue to offer open, constructive support. Currently they are helping me explore secondment and research opportunities; I intend to have these firmed up over the next few months.
In part thanks to how powerful I found my own coaching experience, I’ve now commenced on an AC accredited course in integrated coaching with Acorn Principle and am very much enjoying the intense, stimulating course content.
I continue to benefit from exploring key questions and issues through both the Action Learning Set cohort group which is a core element to the Clore programme, but also from the Full Circle experience I am participating in which is facilitated by OASIS.
These individual aspects combined contribute towards providing a strong route towards me achieving my leadership potential.
