Susan Murray

Susan Murray

Susan has been Assistant Director of Public Affairs with the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) since 2008, where she works on organisational strategy.

Since 2011 Susan has also been a Trustee of the ICAS Foundation. This new foundation aims to increase the diversity of entrants into finance and accounting careers by supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.The first ICAS Foundation funded bursary students started University in September 2013. There are now over 30 students who are financially supported with experienced mentors

Susan's first role in the third sector was with Macmillan Cancer Support. In 2005, Susan joined 'see me', the national anti-stigma campaign for mental ill health. The campaign combined award-winning national publicity with local and national action developed in partnership with groups and individuals across all sectors of Scottish life.

Immediately prior to joining SCVO, Susan was Communications Manager for the Sustainable Development Commission. As well as over 15 years experience working in the public, private and social sectors, Susan has studied at Aberdeen Business School, the University of Edinburgh and Goldsmiths College, University of London. She has also volunteered with a number of organisations including over eight years, as a volunteer leader on National Trust for Scotland conservation projects at weekends and on week long holidays.
