Zubeda is a founder and co-Director of ConnectJustice, a social enterprise that undertakes research, evaluation and training on challenging social justice issues in local and global contexts.

Having worked for over 15 years in the public sector she left her position in local government, determined to develop an interdisciplinary approach to addressing emerging social challenges. She and three colleagues formed ConnectJustice, which works across sectors and disciplines to harness the diverse experiences and expertise of communities, academics and practitioners to transform conflict, shape policy, and create positive sustainable change at the grassroots.Through this work, Zubeda contributes to a wide variety of local, national and pan-European projects on topics such as cohesion, extremism, child sexual exploitation, equalities, and community tensions.

Previously Zubeda was headhunted for a two-year secondment with West Midlands Police to recruit 16 regional community mentors to undertake interventions. Between 2008 and 2011 she managed the Birmingham Preventing Violent Extremism fund totalling £1.2million, in which she invited community tenders, scrutinised bids and ensured transparency.

Zubeda speaks regularly in the media and at international events as an external expert on community-policing for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, as well as American and Canadian governments etc. In 2014, she was appointed as a board member at AshramMoseley Housing Association (Accord Housing).
