For social leaders with three-six years experience wanting to take on their next challenge and make a real difference within the sector. During this intensive six-month programme, you’ll build your leadership capabilities, connect with other social leaders, and level up your leadership.

The programme includes fully funded places for selected Bank of America grantees operating in the Youth sector.

Who it's for

  • Leaders with three-six years' experience working within the charity and social enterprise sectors or within social purpose organisations or leaders looking for their next challenge and to increase their impact

  • Individuals with three-six years' experience leading projects, teams and/or departments in the social sector

  • Leaders looking to change roles or preparing for a promotion within their existing organisation

What to expect

  • The six month programme requires approximately 20-22 days of commitment (this equates to around one day a week)

  • Participants will need to be released from their role for a small period of time, such a residentials and job placements, but the majority can be undertaken outside of working hours

  • Max 24 participants per cohort

  • Awarded the Clore Social Leadership Fellowship upon completion of programme

  • Access to peer networks of social leaders through the Clore Social community

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need any specific qualifications to access the programme?

    No, you don’t need to have any particular academic or professional qualifications to take part in the programme. We know that leadership development training can be very difficult to access in the social sector, so try to make it accessible to those with minimal prior training. Your passion for and experience in the social sector are all you need to apply.

  • Can I apply for a course from outside of the UK?

    Our programmes are run from the UK, and all of our events will be held in the UK. If you are able to travel to events, and can participate in programme elements scheduled to the GMT time zone, you are welcome to apply. We cannot at this time offer further support to applicants from outside the UK.

  • What counts as leadership experience?

    We classify the leadership experience required to meet the programme eligibility as professional, in-sector experience. This may have been accrued at different points throughout your career, at different organisations and can be paid or voluntary. Experienced leader applicants should be able to display at least 3 years of such experience. If your experience falls outside of these criteria, but you feel you are otherwise well suited for the programme, let us know why your experience is relevant and transferable in your application.

  • What happens once the programme is complete?

    As a Clore Social Fellow, you will join a large network of social sector leaders from across the UK. Opportunities to connect with local fellows and continue learning will be supported, encouraged and facilitated wherever possible.
