Leading Beyond Lockdown

A highly subsidised online skills and development programme designed to help you gain clarity, support and a renewed sense of purpose to lead beyond lockdown with confidence.

Gain clarity and support to lead confidently beyond lockdown

This highly subsidised online skills and development programme is designed for people whose work has been affected by COVID-19 and need tailored support so they can hit the ground running as they take their roles forward.

If you have been furloughed, have had to work reduced hours, have taken on more responsibility or are expecting to face challenging decisions, this programme will prepare you to lead beyond lockdown with confidence, skill, and a network of peers to support you along the way.

Taking place exclusively online, the course will include:

  • Discover, a four-week online leadership development journey to help you identify your leadership strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Action Learning Sets (ALS), conducted in a group of peers and facilitated by ALS specialists to help you address complex, real-life issues while working collaboratively with other leaders.
  • Professional Coaching sessions with coaches highly experienced in social leadership, as well as peer coaching opportunities.
  • Clore Social Fellowship. On programme completion, participants will become Clore Social Fellows and will join a wider network of social leaders where they can connect and support one another through the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.

More than ever, we need to know how to lead with quick and decisive action but also strategically and with vision; how to seize opportunity with one hand whilst picking up the pieces with the other.

This is not an easy task to be done alone and with little support. To help leaders cope with the demands and pressures of this new reality, we are investing substantial resources to ensure the programme is highly accessible and impactful.

Clore Social is covering the majority of the true cost of the programme (£1,250) and offering it to participants at an Early Bird Fee of £95 until 11:59pm on 13 July and full programme fee of only £125 thereafter, until the application deadline on 20 July.

What you'll learn

You will be introduced to key leadership behaviours and skills; gain insight into your personal leadership styles and work with peers to tackle the challenges in a post-pandemic world. The programme is designed to complement your work and fit around your existing commitments.

Using Clore Social’s Leadership Development Model, participants will begin by completing Discover (Know Yourself, Be Yourself, Look After Yourself), followed by Action Learning Sets in a group (Working With and Through Others; Assessing Context), bolstered by individual Coaching sessions (Know Yourself Be Yourself, Look After Yourself; Assessing Context).

What to expect from Discover

Discover is our popular online programme, providing leaders with key skills to meet the social challenges of a changing world. This four-week, self-directed online leadership course requires four-five hours per week and is designed to fit around and complement your work.

Self-reflection is central to Discover. We'll nudge you to think critically about your own leadership but it's your brain that will do the lifting (not ours). You will emerge with a powerful peer network for social change. You’ll communicate and build relationships through an online channel, enabling you to learn from and engage with a wider cohort of social leaders and changemakers across the UK’s social sector.

What to expect from Action Learning Sets (ALS)

ALS are ideal for experienced leaders who need to address complex issues with a peer group who meets regularly and works collaboratively.

We collaborate with a directory of expert ALS facilitators. We recommend groups of between six and eight leaders and where possible we will attempt to group according to your level of leadership experience. Each group will receive four facilitated sessions.

What is the Clore Social Fellowship?

On programme completion, participants will become Clore Social Fellows and will join a wider network of alumni and peers.

The Clore Social network is an important resource for peer learning and support in the best of times, but now through the end of 2020 it is and will be a particularly valuable tool through which social leaders can connect and support one another through the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.

What to expect from Coaching

Coaching effectively guides you towards increasing your resilience, efficiency, and performance - getting you closer to achieving your personal and professional goals. Coaching is perfect for leaders experiencing challenging times.

Clore Social has a roster of expert coaches who are experienced in social leadership. Many have coached sector leaders before. We recommend four one-to-one sessions per leader, with an interval of four weeks between Coaching sessions.

  • I was so impressed at how my coach was able to tease out my aspirations for the future; when I was struggling to realise them for myself. She gave me the confidence to explore the ideas in my head and now I can’t wait to see where these take me in the future.
